Had a wonderful experience with Clean Roofing. The staff was knowledgeable, they helped guide us on options. They made sure everything was WUI compliant to help with our home owners insurance. The project leader had wonderful communication, the crew was helpful. They communicated well when they found some wood damage that would require repair. They cleaned up everyday, and were very efficient getting the install done. For such a large expense, it was so nice feeling confident all the folks involved were knowledgeable and competent. I got several bids, and very carefully compared each, and while it was not the absolute lowest, it was lower than many. The quote was transparent and from the research I did the pricing was super reasonable for the work. A+ Would work with again, but I probably won't have to for at least 30 years because the roof is fantastic.

That was important because our roof needed more work than the initial work order we laid out. There was a lot of rot in the wood beneath the roof. The original estimate was very reasonable, but the scope of work great 2-3x fold. With that increase in work that had to be done, the price still felt very fair. We were in good hands!
The whole experience was very relieving. We’ve had rain since they finished, no leaks at all! And they’ve checked in us to make sure everything was all good regarding no leaks. I’m so glad I found Clean Roofing and worked with them!
I was in jam. The roofs on my main house and pool house had 15-year-old cedar-shake shingles. My insurance company notified me that unless I replace both roofs before the insurance policy rolled, they would cancel the policy. I had 8 weeks. Clean roofing was incredibly professional and responsive, and got the job on time. I highly recommend them.
CleanRoofing understood my tight deadline given a follow-on install of a solar system that had to meet a pg&e deadline and started the roofing project essentially immediately upon kicking off the project. They worked expediently and professionally with good communication of the staff on-site (Sergy and Rodrigo). I was also in touch with the owner Micah, who is easy to talk to and finds solutions quickly and straightforward if unplanned things arise. The team left the site every evening cleaner than expected, and kept good care of our fruit trees.

And, the price was the most reasonable for both the combined job and as individual components (Solar / Roof), of all the quotes I received. Clean Roofing was top notch through the entire process. From top to bottom I was handle efficiently.
Starting with Micah get me a quick efficient estimate. Start date was made right away and they held to the schedule above and beyond.
Omar was able to get his pre job walk through done right anyway and make sure all materials were ordered and ready when to job started. Rodrigo kept the job running smoothly all the way through with making sure I was fully aware of change orders. I was given estimates for all additional need work and additional work was explained to me in a timely manner. Even with the needed and approved change orders the work never stopped an was completed on time including additional stucco work and the installation of gutters and down spouts. The crew worked extremely efficiently while doing excellent craftsmanship from Jorge, Pablo, Luis, Rolando and Jesus. A big crew was in the job daily. Clean was above and beyond not only do the make sure to clean up at the end of each day I Regularly saw them blowing and clean throughout the days work. I was researching solar and reroofing options and even though I did not choose to work with this company in the end, I felt I had to give them good reviews for their help along the process. I had to get many quotes to understand the market and my options so I had to turn down all but 1 company in the end. But I do appreciate the information provided by Art Balaoro. Email communication is quick, clear, and informative. Answered my questions on roofing to work with a solar system for me and was very professional and patient. I think they would've been a solid choice too. I decided to work with a local family-owned roofer whose owner is the roofer and came in person.
We had clean roofing put a Tesla roof on our new house. If you want to get a Tesla roof these are one of the few guys in town that can make it happen for you. When it comes to the service they are good communicators and are very helpful and responsive.
We had Clean Roofing on as the company to do a major roof project for an expected future solar installation. Miguel Huerta and his crew did an excellent job on the project. We needed the whole roof replaced with new plywood, shingles and gutters and their team worked fast. It took a week for everything to be complete and they didn't leave a mess at all. Any complications that came up, they communicated it with us and resolved it in a timely manner. The quality of the roof overall is great and looks beautiful.
I chose Clean Roofing for a full roof replacement going from wooden shaker panels to composite asphalt. Clean Roofing also has a sister company called Clean Solar, and my initial contact was with Art (sales) who mostly answered my solar questions but was more than well versed in answering general questions on roofing as well. He was professional and didn't try to cross sell services, nor was he pushy when I was hesitating on such a costly expense. Ultimately, choose Clean Roofing over other companies because of the professionalism working with Art, the follow-ups, and the detailed quote provided. Their quote came in right in the middle of all the bids, and they have their master installer warranties to put the cherry on top.
Service:
I landed Rodrigo as the foreman and Miguel as my project manager. Both were communicative, and informed me of any issues as the project went along. I always have a healthy bit of skepticism when contractors leave the door open for "unforeseeable issues", but I felt they were very honest in terms of what absolutely needed to be repaired vs what could've waited. My project was close to 40k, but we only saw about a 1k over-run due to dry-rot. They took plenty of pictures of the problem areas, and gave me the option if I wanted to replace.
Miguel followed up daily to ensure I didn't have any questions, and Rodrigo led his crew with a professionalism that inspired confidence in his craftsmanship. He was also very joyful, and that's awesome to see someone that loves their job so much.
Cleanliness:
Re-roofing is a loud and messy job, but everyday I came home to a clean worksite. The floors were all blown clean, and they neatly made a pile of their tools in a corner of the driveway for use the next day. I have an exposed garage, and the team offered to tarp my belongings before the project started, and tried their best to clean the garage of all the debris that fell by the end of the project.
There was a bit of an obstruction that found it's way into my bathroom exhaust vent, but Rodrigo took care of it right away when he was back on site the next day by blowing it out.
Quality:
From what I could tell, the roof looks clean. It passed inspection on first try, and all flashings look properly cut. I guess I'll only truly know when it's rainy season again, but we love how clean the roof looks for now!
Would highly recommend Clean Roofing, their service was top notch and I feel confident in their work.

Following the initial unfortunate incident, the company's president Micah personally reached out and assured that he would oversee the roof replacement process. Although their bid was not the most economical, I chose this company over several others due to positive reviews highlighting exceptional service.
The day of the teardown proceeded seamlessly. The team arrived promptly in the morning and removed the old roof within approximately three hours. Later that afternoon, new materials were transported onto the roof in preparation for an early start the next day. Anticipating potential rain, the crew covered the roof with felt paper to prevent any water leakage into the home.The re-roofing was efficiently completed within two days, and the team executed an outstanding job.
They undoubtedly went above and beyond, even touching up paint on trim and fascia boards, as well as patching small areas of stucco to ensure the roof's optimal appearance. Throughout the process, I experienced excellent communication, decision-making autonomy, outstanding customer service, and superior workmanship quality.

I wanted to replace my roof and asked for a quote, The estimator visited the property and did an review and told me that i had 2 layers of roof and he would send an updated quote in next couple of hours. I was in a hurry to get the process started so i followed up the next day when the quote was not sent. They replied back with the updated quote.
I noticed that quote still mentioned 1 layer of roof removal. I asked for the correction on thursday and followed up again on monday when i didn't get a response on Friday.
i got a response but the price changed again, i was under the impression the initial updated quote was including the price of two roof layers. I expressed my displeasure at the of me having to follow up a lot and how this process has not been good so far.
But that's when i call back and had person yell at me, accusing me that i called off work hours and was expecting a response over the weekend. I never called that company or any person in that company but only have incoming calls. But the experience of person from a company yell at you because i expressed that i was having a bad experience in communication is a first me. All this before signing a contract, think of what you can expect after signing the contract. This should tell you of what kinds customer service you can expect from this company.
They are arrogant, non responsive and really difficult to work with. From my experience I would not work with this company, and advice other to do the same.
I used Clean Roof to reroof my house. The finished roof looks amazing and I appreciate the team's recommendation of the color and style, which looks great.
However, there are a few issues that don't make this a 100% satisfaction:
Project Oversight: I found myself needing to be much more involved than I anticipated to ensure things were done properly. I had to follow up frequently to confirm broken rafters and framing would be replaced and painted. I also wasn't aware I needed to provide paint until the last minute, which forced me to take time off work to purchase it.
Garage Door Opener: Since midway through the project, my garage door opener has lost power. The worker lead kindly helped troubleshoot and found a few staples in the wiring, but the issue still isn't resolved. Later I have to hire an electrician for 3 hours to finally identify the problem cable that was hit by roof staples. The project manager just kept saying "The wiring is not up to the code", indicating it was not their fault that the wire was there. How surprised that they were to find a 60 years old house in bay area that's not up to the code!
Skylight Debris: Some debris fell through the skylight opening when it was removed and was never cleaned up. I had to clean up by myself later.
Rotten Wood Replacement Cost: The charge for replacing rotten wood ended up being much higher than I expected. When comparing bids, I was told it would typically be under $1,000, but this turned out to be nearly 10% of the total cost. (however they denied this is never the case)
Considering the total price is 6K more than another Master Elite installer's quote, I have higher expectation.
I chose Clean Roofing because I was having solar panels installed through their sister company, Clean Solar, but unfortunately the professionalism, competency, and attention to detail that was present in Clean Solar's work was absent from this company.
We chose to go with a metal roof and the whole process felt like this was their first time installing a metal roof. They were short on materials… project delayed. They didn’t realize they needed to do a teardown inspection from the city… project delayed. They didn’t realize they needed a special saddle for our sky light… project delayed.
You might be thinking, well does that matter if they ultimately did a good job installing the roof? They did not. We’ve had to have them back twice already to fix issues with craftsmanship and finishing (See pictures), such as leaving gaps in the roof and globs of exposed silicone facing the front of the house. They also didn’t disclose the process of metal roof oil canning ( where the roof looks like it has dents), and their install had way more canning than other metal roofs I’ve seen locally.
The communication and care for the house was also poor. After they "cleaned up" for the day I would have to pick up loose nails in my driveway. They left sheets of loose 6ft strips of metal on my roof over the weekend which came crashing down into my front walkway on a windy day. They would say they would be coming one day and then not show and say they wouldn’t be coming then show up. I recently had an attic fan installed in my roof and they tore it out and threw it away without telling me. I later was told that attic fans don't work with ridge vents, but it would have been nice to have the option to keep the fan I spent hundreds on.
Their initial price for the roof was fair, but I had a couple mandatory change orders that they charged a 22% markup on. I’m used to seeing a 15% markup, so this was definitely high for me.
I unfortunately cannot recommend them, at least for a metal roof. I will note that I brought up many of the issues I detailed above and the only resolution they provided was a verbal apology. They were good about coming back to fix some of the issues I had with the roof.
Glad we took our time selecting a roofing company. We could not be happier with Clean Roofing. Excellent workmanship. Quality service. Amazing price. We had a complete re-roofing done including underlayment for the spanish clay tiles for a solar project. The roof is completely sealed with a two inch installation and we have already noticed the difference with temperature in the house as the house is a lot warmer. Clean Roofing did a great job helping with a leak on our flat membrane roof. I called them about the issue, and they responded quickly, found the leak, and repaired it efficiently. While they were there, they also recommended some preventive cleaning and minor repairs to help avoid future problems, which I really appreciated. Their pricing felt reasonable, and the quality of their work was excellent. Great company overall -- I would happily recommend Clean Roofing and use them again.

Everything went very smoothly! All communication was great! The guys worked hard and the roof was done quickly. They cleaned up as if they were never there. The price was competitive, and they finished on time as promised. The roof looks great and we have already been receiving compliments. We also added insulation and they did a fabuous job- very thorough and complete.
