Santa Clara, California

Santa Clara Roofing Contractor | Trusted Since 2017

Clean Roofing works both halves of this city: the post-war streets of Northside and Central, the Victorians and bungalows of the Old Quad, the tile roofs of Rivermark, and the low-slope R&D and industrial buildings running along Scott Boulevard, Walsh, and the Great America corridor. Mild weather has convinced a lot of Santa Clara owners their roof is fine. Usually it means the failure is just quieter.
Your inspection is booked with the estimator who will climb the roof, not a call centre script reader.

Why Santa Clara Roofs Fail Quietly

Santa Clara roofs face constant exposure to marine moisture, strong UV rays, and gradual seismic movement, all of which can cause hidden damage over time. Our experienced roofing contractors in Santa Clara, CA provide thorough inspections, expert roof repair in Santa Clara, and reliable solutions designed for local homes and climate conditions.

When repairs are no longer enough, Clean Roofing provides professional roof replacement in Santa Clara using quality materials and proven installation methods. As a trusted roofing company in Santa Clara, we focus on long-lasting protection, dependable workmanship, and clear communication. Contact Clean Roofing today to schedule your roof assessment and get a professional estimate.

The upside of a mild climate is that we install year round here. No frozen mornings, no waiting for a season to open up.
Clean Roofing has worked this valley since 2017. An inspection from us means we walk the deck, get into the attic where there is access, photograph the actual defects, and show you the pictures before anyone talks about money. A fair share of the roofs we look at are not ready for replacement, and when that is the case we say so in writing and give you a rough number of seasons left.

Read more about our company, or ring (888) 336-2115 and we will get an inspection on the calendar.

Why Santa Clara Roofs Fail Quietly

What we do

Santa Clara Roofing Services for Homes and Commercial Buildings

Nine services and a single way of working. A 60,000 square foot membrane roof off Scott Boulevard and a leak over a bedroom in Northside get the same inspection standard, the same crew discipline, and the same warranty behind them.
commercial roofing

Commercial Roofing

Commercial roofing in Santa Clara is overwhelmingly low-slope: the R&D, office, retail, and light industrial stock along Scott Boulevard, Walsh Avenue, Bowers, Central Expressway, and the Great America and Mission College corridors. We install and repair TPO, PVC, modified bitumen, and built-up systems, working around rooftop HVAC, conduit runs, and screen walls rather than pretending they are not up there. Evening and weekend phasing keeps your tenants operating.
Residential Roofing

Roof Replacement & Installation

Tear-off and new roof installation for Santa Clara homes. We strip to the deck, repair or sheathe over skip boards where code requires it, lay synthetic or ice-and-water underlayment, replace every piece of flashing rather than reusing it, and finish in architectural shingle, concrete or clay tile, or standing-seam metal. Registered under our GAF Master Elite status so the enhanced warranty tiers are available to you.
Roof Repair & Leak Diagnosis

Roof Repair & Leak Diagnosis

Roof leak repair in Santa Clara begins with finding where water genuinely enters, which is almost never directly above the stain. It travels along a rafter and drops wherever the framing lets it go. We check flashing, valleys, penetrations, slipped or cracked tile, and dry rot at the eaves and fascia, then fix the cause. Storm damage and emergency tarping included.
Tesla Solar Roof Installation

Solar Roofing Services

The glass solar tiles are the roof itself, so one contractor carries the job from tear-off through energy production. In Santa Clara, that also means interconnecting with Silicon Valley Power rather than PG&E, a different process with its own forms and timelines. Our solar roofing services combine experienced roof installation with integrated solar solutions for Bay Area homeowners.
Roof Venting & Attic Ventilation

Roof Ventilation

The defect we find most often in Santa Clara’s post-war housing. With no intake at the eaves, a ridge vent draws conditioned air out of your living space instead of heat out of the attic, and the deck bakes all summer regardless. We size intake against exhaust for the attic volume and put those figures in the estimate before anything gets cut into the roof.
Roof Restoration Coating

Roof Restoration Coating

Silicone and elastomeric systems that seal a low-slope roof and add years of service for a fraction of a replacement. A strong option on Santa Clara commercial buildings where the membrane is tired but the deck and insulation below it remain sound. We propose it only when the inspection supports it, never as a way to avoid an awkward conversation.
Gutters & Downspouts

Gutters & Downspouts

Gutters sized for South Bay storm volume and pitched to actually drain, with downspouts routed away from the foundation instead of emptying at the corner of the house. On the mature tree-lined streets through Central Santa Clara and the Old Quad, guards pay for themselves in cleanings you never book.
Attic Insulation

Roof & Attic Insulation

Insulation and ventilation are one system, and handling them separately is why so many Santa Clara attics still run hot with brand new insulation sitting in them. We assess both together and install to a depth that suits the assembly, so summer heat stays out of the bedrooms and winter warmth stays where you paid to put it.
metal roof1

Metal Roof Installation

Standing-seam metal for owners who want to install once and stop thinking about the roof. Metal sheds moss and leaf debris instead of trapping it, takes decades of valley ultraviolet without breaking down, and works on both modern infill builds and low-slope sections. Out toward Alviso and the baylands we specify coated panels with matched fasteners, because salt air punishes any shortcut in the metalwork.

How It Works

Our Process: What to Expect When You Work With Clean Roofing

01

Free roof inspection

Usually on the calendar within 24 hours. Deck, penetrations, drainage, and attic access, all photographed as we go.

02

You see the photos first

We show you what is actually wrong before we talk about cost, so you can judge the recommendation on the evidence.

03

Line-item estimate

Priced off the real condition of the roof and broken out item by item, so it stands up next to any other bid you are holding.

04

Permits and scheduling

We file with the City of Santa Clara Building Inspection Division, book the inspections, and give you a start date with a realistic finish attached.

05

Build to the checklist

Forty-five documented steps every project manager follows, so your roof does not depend on who happened to be free that week.

06

Scored before sign-off

Magnet sweeps and cleanup at the end of each day, then a final quality review scored internally before we call the job closed.

On the ground in Santa Clara

Our Santa Clara Roofing Experience

Every neighbourhood in this city is a different roofing problem. Here is what we actually find.

The Old Quad and the city's oldest housing

The blocks around Santa Clara University and the Mission hold the oldest stock in the city: Victorians, Craftsman bungalows, and early cottages with steep complex rooflines and original tongue-and-groove decking. The City takes the historic character of these streets seriously, and depending on the property, work can trigger an additional review step. We flag that at estimate stage rather than after you have signed, and we match profiles and colours that keep the street looking like itself.

Northside, Central, and the Alameda district

Post-war ranch and 1960s tract housing, which is the bread and butter of roofing here. Nearly every one of these roofs we open shows the same three things: two or three stacked layers, original skip sheathing, and no intake ventilation at the eaves whatsoever. That combination is why so many of these attics run brutally hot and why the decking underneath is often in worse shape than the shingles suggested.

Rivermark and the early 2000s tile

Rivermark brought concrete tile, tight lot lines, three-storey elevations, and HOA appearance rules. Twenty-plus years on, these roofs are arriving at the point where the tile itself is perfectly sound and the underlayment beneath it is finished. Those roofs do not need new tile. They need a lift and relay: pull the tile, replace underlayment and flashing, rebuild the valleys, and set the original tile back down. We confirm profile and colour against the HOA standard before anything is ordered.

Alviso, the baylands, and salt exposure

Low, flat, and right on the water. Salt in the air corrodes flashing, vents, drip edge, and fasteners considerably faster than it does a few miles inland, and we have pulled roofs off buildings out here where the covering was fine and every piece of metal on it had given up. The stock skews commercial and industrial with large low-slope roofs, so drainage detail and corrosion-resistant specification decide the service life.

Commercial buildings and what actually fails

Across Santa Clara’s office, R&D, and industrial roofs, we get called for the same three failures over and over: ponding water sitting at the drains, seam or flashing failure at rooftop equipment curbs, and physical damage from whoever last serviced the HVAC. Sometimes the honest answer is full replacement. Frequently it is drainage correction plus a restoration coating, which costs a fraction. We will tell you which one you are looking at.

Solar, and the Silicon Valley Power difference

Santa Clara runs its own municipal utility rather than PG&E, so solar interconnection, rate treatment, and paperwork all follow Silicon Valley Power’s rules. A roofer who has never done a solar job in this city will not know that, and it is exactly the sort of thing that stalls a project by weeks. We also give you the honest remaining life of the existing deck before you sign anything with a solar company, because an array on a roof with six years left means paying to pull and reset the panels later.

Experience, expertise, authority, trust

Why Santa Clara Property Owners Choose Clean Roofing

Serving Santa Clara and Silicon Valley since 2017, from our yard on Charter Park Drive in San Jose.

Eight-plus years in this valley

Founded October 2017 and working the same South Bay housing stock ever since, with foremen who have been here for most of that run. Roofing produces a lot of one-year companies. We are not one of them.

CA CSLB License #1034462

Active and verifiable on the Contractors State License Board site, backed by liability and workers’ compensation cover. The documents reach you before day one, not after you ask twice.

GAF Master Elite

A certification held by roughly the top three percent of contractors nationally. It is what allows us to register GAF System Plus and Golden Pledge coverage on your roof at all.

CertainTeed SELECT ShingleMaster

Qualified to install CertainTeed as a complete integrated system, which is the condition for SureStart Plus extended coverage to remain valid. Mixing components from three brands is the quickest way to void what you paid for.

Tesla Solar Roof authorized

Certified installers with Solar Roof projects completed across the Bay Area. It is a different trade discipline entirely from mounting panels onto an existing deck.

Free comprehensive inspection

Roof, attic, ventilation, and drainage, documented with photographs, at no cost and with no obligation to proceed. Plenty of the roofs we inspect are not ready for replacement.

Warranty on both sides

Manufacturer material coverage plus our own workmanship warranty on top, both explained in plain terms and in writing before you sign anything.

Financing available

A roof is rarely a planned expense. Monthly payment options mean you can install the right system now instead of the cheapest one available today. See financing options.

Silicon Valley Power familiarity

Solar work in this city interconnects through Santa Clara’s own municipal utility, not PG&E. We have run that process and know precisely where it slows down.

Exceptional Quality, Professional Team, and Outstanding Results! We recently had our roof replaced by Clean Roofing, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Our home has a complex second-story roof, but their team handled the entire project with absolute precision and professionalism from start to finish. The project was completed right on schedule, and every single promise made during the initial consultation was kept. The crew was exceptionally skilled, hard-working, and respectful of our property. The finished roof looks phenomenal and has completely transformed the look of our home. The quality of their work speaks for itself—several of our neighbors stopped by to compliment the roof and ask for their contact information, and one neighbor has already hired them for a project of their own! If you want a seamless experience and flawless workmanship, Clean Roofing is the company to call.

Clean Roofing is so efficient. I saw them work on my neighbor’s roof and asked them to replace mine. I also asked my neighbor about the experience; he highly recommends them. My roof was done in a few days, and I recommend this team as well. The workers Tony and his team, their supervisor Rodrigo, and the boss on the phone are all friendly and easy to communicate.

We recently hired Clean Roofing to replace our 30-year-old roof, and we could not be happier with the results. The crew was exceptionally friendly, professional, and thorough—finishing the entire project in just 3 days, exactly as projected. Sergei was fantastic: he speaks fluent English, communicated clearly throughout every stage, and took the time to patiently explain all the work being done. A few highlights from our experience: Transparency: They found and repaired some dry rot, documenting all damaged areas with photos so we could see the issues firsthand. Gutter Work: They installed gutter screens, adjusted the slope to ensure proper drainage away from the house, and shared photos of the freshly cleaned gutters. Quality & Visuals: Sergei even provided drone photos of the completed roof, and the job passed city inspection on the very first try. A quick tip for homeowners: Do a quick walk-around of the perimeter once the crew wraps up to make sure no stray tools or materials were accidentally left behind. Overall, top-notch craftsmanship, efficient work, and outstanding communication. Highly recommended!

Had a wonderful experience with Clean Roofing. The staff was knowledgeable, they helped guide us on options. They made sure everything was WUI compliant to help with our home owners insurance. The project leader had wonderful communication, the crew was helpful. They communicated well when they found some wood damage that would require repair. They cleaned up everyday, and were very efficient getting the install done. For such a large expense, it was so nice feeling confident all the folks involved were knowledgeable and competent. I got several bids, and very carefully compared each, and while it was not the absolute lowest, it was lower than many. The quote was transparent and from the research I did the pricing was super reasonable for the work. A+ Would work with again, but I probably won't have to for at least 30 years because the roof is fantastic.

I had my roof replaced in 2023 and Clean Roofing did an excellent job from sales to installation. They were very easy to work with and responsive to any questions and requests. The owner recently contacted me and asked if there were any issues or concerns, which I thought was very thoughtful. I highly recommend them.

I've used Clean Roofing on several projects. Service and quality has always been top quality. The crews are good, courteous, communicate at every step of the way. Project started and wrapped up when they said it would. They are also technically knowledgeable, this was important when we were doing a solar installation, as it was not a straight forward install, their solar group (Clean Solar), knew more than any other company we spoke to. I would not hesitate to use them again on future projects.

We had an outstanding experience with Clean Roofing from start to finish. Roofing projects can be disruptive and messy by nature, but this team truly lives up to their name. A huge shoutout to the crew: Magdaleno, Erick, Luis, Rolando, Jordy, and Sergy, who were exceptional every step of the way. Their communication was clear, consistent, and proactive. We always knew what to expect each day, and any questions we had were answered quickly and thoughtfully. Scheduling was seamless, and they stayed true to their timeline, which we really appreciated. Even more impressive was their follow-through, every detail was handled with care, and nothing felt rushed or overlooked. What really set them apart was how clean and respectful they were of our home throughout the process. Roofing is inherently messy, but this crew went above and beyond to keep everything as tidy as possible each day. It made a huge difference for our family. If you're looking for a team that is professional, reliable, and truly takes pride in their work, Clean Roofing is the one. We couldn’t recommend them more highly.

Review from Yelp
Clean roofing did an amazing job on our roof, and I cannot recommend them highly enough! They were quick to come out and give an estimate, available to answer questions regarding the scope of work, timelines, and negotiating price, and just as quick to start work once we were ready to go.

Jorge was our foreman, and he was great. He checked in with us in the morning, professional, and super hardworking, as was the rest of his crew, including Pablo, Jorge Jr, and Jesus. They worked hard, stayed busy, Jorge kept us updated. The whole crew was very nice (with 3 young daughters, that was an awesome little bonus). They kept the workspace contained, were mindful of our safety, and worked around our young family clutter and bustle.

Laura was our operations manager, and she kept us updated and up to speed! Rodrigo was our superintendent, and he was very easy to communicate with. He was responsive, timely, and made sure we understood the scope of the work.

That was important because our roof needed more work than the initial work order we laid out. There was a lot of rot in the wood beneath the roof. The original estimate was very reasonable, but the scope of work great 2-3x fold. With that increase in work that had to be done, the price still felt very fair. We were in good hands!

The whole experience was very relieving. We've had rain since they finished, no leaks at all! And they've checked in us to make sure everything was all good regarding no leaks. I'm so glad I found Clean Roofing and worked with them!
Review from Yelp
Clean Roofing did a great job helping with a leak on our flat membrane roof. I called them about the issue, and they responded quickly, found the leak, and repaired it efficiently. While they were there, they also recommended some preventive cleaning and minor repairs to help avoid future problems, which I really appreciated. Their pricing felt reasonable, and the quality of their work was excellent. Great company overall -- I would happily recommend Clean Roofing and use them again.
Review from Yelp
I cannot recommend Clean Roofing enough! Dealing with a roof leak is incredibly stressful, but this team made the entire process so much easier.

Desiree was absolutely amazing--she was always quick to respond and kept communication seamless. Micah was also a huge help, patiently answering all of our questions with a friendly and professional attitude.

When it came to the actual work, Daniel and Eduardo were fantastic. They were professional, punctual, and their quality of work was excellent. It is rare to find a team that combines such great customer service with high-quality craftsmanship. If you're looking for a reliable roofing company that truly cares about their customers, look no further
Review from Yelp
We had a good experience with the roofers who did the work on our house - Rodrigo (project manager), Jorge, Jr, Pablo, and Jesus. They were timely and polite. They worked very hard, cleaned up, and kept me in the loop.
Review from Yelp
Clean Roofing came out and fixed some out of warranty holes in my roof caused by some squirrels or crows. There was some initial miscommunication but it was resolved entirely satisfactorily. Even though it was out of warranty. Thank you !!
Review from Yelp
Miguel, Jose and team took the time and care with our roof to make sure it was the best looking one on the block! We're so happy with their hard work, and really appreciate the way all parts of the process were handled professionally.
Review from Yelp
Everything went very smoothly! All communication was great! The guys worked hard and the roof was done quickly. They cleaned up as if they were never there. The price was competitive, and they finished on time as promised. The roof looks great and we have already been receiving compliments. We also added insulation and they did a fabuous job- very thorough and complete.
Review from Yelp
We had these guys install a Tesla solar roof for us. Very responsive, professional and helpful. I'd definitely recommend.

Santa Clara Roofing FAQs

The questions Santa Clara owners ask us most, answered straight.
The variables that move the number are square footage, pitch, how accessible the roof is, and the material. Architectural asphalt shingle sits at the affordable end. Concrete or clay tile, standing-seam metal, and Tesla Solar Roof carry a higher install cost and considerably longer service life. One factor pushes projects here up more than any other: the post-war tracts usually hide two or three stacked layers and original skip sheathing beneath the visible roof, and that only becomes a line item once somebody gets up there and looks. We measure the roof and open the attic before quoting, and that visit costs you nothing.
Yes. Roof replacement is permitted work, filed with the City of Santa Clara Building Inspection Division, with inspections at set points during the job. We prepare the application, pay the fees, schedule the inspections, and meet the inspector, so none of that paperwork lands on you. If your property sits in the Old Quad or carries historic status, there may be an additional review step, and we will tell you at estimate stage rather than after you have signed.
A standard single-family tear-off and re-roof is usually a few working days once the material has been delivered. What stretches it is rotten decking discovered during tear-off, an unusually complex roofline, tile work, or winter rain. Commercial low-slope projects are phased around building operations by design and run longer. Your estimate carries a start date and a realistic completion window rather than a vague promise.
Architectural asphalt shingle is the practical default and performs well here. Concrete and clay tile suit the Rivermark and Mediterranean-style homes and last decades provided the underlayment is looked after. Standing-seam metal is the strongest long-term choice, particularly on shaded planes where moss keeps returning, because it sheds growth rather than holding it. Low-slope and commercial decks take TPO, PVC, or modified bitumen. Whatever the covering, the underlayment and the ventilation decide how long it genuinely lasts in this climate.
Yes, and it is a substantial part of what we do in this city. Santa Clara’s office, R&D, retail, and light industrial buildings are almost entirely low-slope, and we install and repair TPO, PVC, modified bitumen, and built-up systems on them. We are used to coordinating roof access with property managers, working around rooftop mechanical equipment, and phasing work into evenings or weekends so tenants stay operational. Ask about restoration coating too, since it often solves the problem for a fraction of a replacement.
Yes, and we are among the first Tesla Certified Solar Roof installers in the Bay Area. One thing specific to this city: Santa Clara is served by Silicon Valley Power, its own municipal utility, so interconnection and rate treatment go through SVP rather than PG&E, with different forms and different timelines. Knowing that up front is the difference between a smooth project and one sitting idle waiting on paperwork. We also give you the honest remaining life of your existing roof first, because putting solar over a deck with six years left means paying twice.
Once a year is sensible, ideally in early autumn before the first real rain, plus after any unusually windy stretch. Roofs past fifteen years, roofs under heavy tree cover, and anything with a history of leaks deserve checking more often. It is a short visit and it catches the cheap problems, a lifted flashing or a blocked valley, while they are still cheap problems. Our inspections are free.
Repair territory: damage confined to one area, a roof under roughly twenty years old, and no history of repeat leaks. Replacement territory: granules collecting in the gutters, shingles curling or cupping across whole planes, daylight or moisture staining visible in the attic, sagging between rafters, leaks in several separate areas, or a third repair invoice on the same roof. At that point the repairs are simply a replacement paid for in instalments.
Yes. A roof is rarely an expense anyone planned for, and we would rather you install the system that suits the house than the cheapest one you can cover this month. Monthly payment options are available and we will walk through what fits your project during the estimate. Details sit on our financing page.
Yes. California code requires attic ventilation and it is checked at inspection, but the code minimum is a floor rather than a target. The recurring failure in Santa Clara’s older tracts is exhaust with no matching intake at the eaves, which makes a ridge vent pull air out of the house instead of heat out of the attic. On every replacement we calculate intake against exhaust for the attic volume and show you the figures. It is also the cheapest single thing you can do to extend the life of the roof above it.
