Why San Jose homeowners choose us

What's your roof doing? Tap it.

Not every symptom means the same repair or the same urgency. Pick what you’re seeing and get a straight answer before you ever pick up the phone.

Typically repairable

Granule loss & UV wear

Grit collecting at your downspouts means the asphalt mat is now exposed to San Jose’s UV load. Isolated areas can be replaced now cheaper than the leak it turns into. If it’s across the whole roof, we’ll be honest about replacement.

Typically repairable

Curling or cupping shingles

Usually worst on south- and west-facing slopes that bake all summer. We replace the affected shingles and check your attic ventilation poor airflow is often the real root cause.

Time-sensitive — book soon

Missing or wind-lifted shingles

Once a tab lifts, the next wind-driven rain finds the gap. This one’s time-sensitive we reseal or replace and install matching starter and field shingles before water gets underneath.

Time-sensitive — book soon

Active leak — likely flashing

Staining near chimneys, skylights, and valleys is almost always a flashing failure, not the shingle field. This needs priority attention before it reaches insulation and drywall. Call us and it jumps the queue.

Typically repairable

Cracked or split shingles

Often from age, hail, or foot traffic left behind by other trades walking the roof. We replace the cracked shingles and check for the same damage nearby that hasn’t opened up yet.

Typically repairable

Moss & dark streaking

Common on shaded, north-facing slopes in Willow Glen and Rose Garden, where tree cover holds moisture. We assess whether it’s surface staining or trapped moisture already working under the shingles.

Time-sensitive — book soon

Storm & wind damage

San Jose gusts are enough to break a shingle’s factory seal. We document everything with photos for your insurance claim, then repair or if it’s widespread across slopes tell you honestly if replacement is the better call.

Typically repairable

A roof showing its age

At 15–20 years, isolated damage is normal wear old enough to show problems, young enough that a targeted repair still beats a full re-roof financially. We’ll tell you exactly where yours falls on that curve.

The plain-English version

What shingle roof repair actually means

Fixing localized damage cracked, curling, or missing shingles, failed flashing, or an isolated leak without tearing off the whole roof.

On a typical San Jose repair, our crew pulls the damaged shingles, checks the underlayment and deck underneath for rot, renews any failed flashing, and weaves in new color-matched shingles so the patch is watertight and close to invisible from the street. That’s different from a full re-roof, where the entire shingle field, underlayment, and often the flashing get replaced at once, and a big part of our job is telling you honestly which one you actually need.

Know before it leaks

Signs you need shingle repair in San Jose

Most South Bay shingle problems trace back to the same handful of causes: relentless UV, wind-driven winter rain, and roofs reaching the end of their service life.
Granules in the gutters

Granules in the gutters

Heavy granule loss means the asphalt mat is now exposed to San Jose’s UV load. A repair now is cheaper than a leak later.
Curling or cupping

Curling or cupping

Worst on south- and west-facing slopes that bake in the summer sun. Edges lifting or cupping inward signal aging shingles.
Cracked or split shingles

Missing or lifted tabs

Ceiling or attic stains

What we actually find up there

Common shingle repairs we handle

01

Granule loss & UV wear

Heavy loss exposes the fiberglass mat and shortens shingle life fast. Isolated areas get replaced; widespread loss points toward replacement.

02

Cracked, curling & split shingles

We replace affected shingles and check attic ventilation poor airflow is often the root cause, not just the symptom.

03

Wind-lifted & missing shingles

Winter gusts break the factory seal. We reseal or replace and install matching starter strip and field shingles where they're missing.

04

Flashing & valley leaks

Most "shingle leaks" are actually failed flashing. We renew flashing at every penetration caulk-only fixes fail again within a season.

05

Nail pops & delamination

Improper nailing lets shingles lift and buckle. We re-secure or replace with the correct fastener pattern for the manufacturer's spec.

06

Ridge cap & hip damage

The ridge takes the most wind and foot traffic. We replace with cap shingles rated for your warranty never mismatched cut-up 3-tab.

07

Vent boot & pipe jack failures

Rubber collars dry out and crack after 8–10 years in San Jose sun one of the most common, most overlooked sources of a slow attic leak.

08

Skylight flashing leaks

Older skylight kits deteriorate before the shingles do. We renew the curb flashing and re-integrate it with the surrounding courses.

Straight answers, no upsell

Repair or replace? How we decide

Rubber collars often dry out and crack after 8 to 10 years of sun exposure in San Jose, making them one of the most common and overlooked causes of slow attic leaks.

Exceptional Quality, Professional Team, and Outstanding Results! We recently had our roof replaced by Clean Roofing, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Our home has a complex second-story roof, but their team handled the entire project with absolute precision and professionalism from start to finish. The project was completed right on schedule, and every single promise made during the initial consultation was kept. The crew was exceptionally skilled, hard-working, and respectful of our property. The finished roof looks phenomenal and has completely transformed the look of our home. The quality of their work speaks for itself—several of our neighbors stopped by to compliment the roof and ask for their contact information, and one neighbor has already hired them for a project of their own! If you want a seamless experience and flawless workmanship, Clean Roofing is the company to call.

Clean Roofing is so efficient. I saw them work on my neighbor’s roof and asked them to replace mine. I also asked my neighbor about the experience; he highly recommends them. My roof was done in a few days, and I recommend this team as well. The workers Tony and his team, their supervisor Rodrigo, and the boss on the phone are all friendly and easy to communicate.

We recently hired Clean Roofing to replace our 30-year-old roof, and we could not be happier with the results. The crew was exceptionally friendly, professional, and thorough—finishing the entire project in just 3 days, exactly as projected. Sergei was fantastic: he speaks fluent English, communicated clearly throughout every stage, and took the time to patiently explain all the work being done. A few highlights from our experience: Transparency: They found and repaired some dry rot, documenting all damaged areas with photos so we could see the issues firsthand. Gutter Work: They installed gutter screens, adjusted the slope to ensure proper drainage away from the house, and shared photos of the freshly cleaned gutters. Quality & Visuals: Sergei even provided drone photos of the completed roof, and the job passed city inspection on the very first try. A quick tip for homeowners: Do a quick walk-around of the perimeter once the crew wraps up to make sure no stray tools or materials were accidentally left behind. Overall, top-notch craftsmanship, efficient work, and outstanding communication. Highly recommended!

Had a wonderful experience with Clean Roofing. The staff was knowledgeable, they helped guide us on options. They made sure everything was WUI compliant to help with our home owners insurance. The project leader had wonderful communication, the crew was helpful. They communicated well when they found some wood damage that would require repair. They cleaned up everyday, and were very efficient getting the install done. For such a large expense, it was so nice feeling confident all the folks involved were knowledgeable and competent. I got several bids, and very carefully compared each, and while it was not the absolute lowest, it was lower than many. The quote was transparent and from the research I did the pricing was super reasonable for the work. A+ Would work with again, but I probably won't have to for at least 30 years because the roof is fantastic.

I had my roof replaced in 2023 and Clean Roofing did an excellent job from sales to installation. They were very easy to work with and responsive to any questions and requests. The owner recently contacted me and asked if there were any issues or concerns, which I thought was very thoughtful. I highly recommend them.

I've used Clean Roofing on several projects. Service and quality has always been top quality. The crews are good, courteous, communicate at every step of the way. Project started and wrapped up when they said it would. They are also technically knowledgeable, this was important when we were doing a solar installation, as it was not a straight forward install, their solar group (Clean Solar), knew more than any other company we spoke to. I would not hesitate to use them again on future projects.

We had an outstanding experience with Clean Roofing from start to finish. Roofing projects can be disruptive and messy by nature, but this team truly lives up to their name. A huge shoutout to the crew: Magdaleno, Erick, Luis, Rolando, Jordy, and Sergy, who were exceptional every step of the way. Their communication was clear, consistent, and proactive. We always knew what to expect each day, and any questions we had were answered quickly and thoughtfully. Scheduling was seamless, and they stayed true to their timeline, which we really appreciated. Even more impressive was their follow-through, every detail was handled with care, and nothing felt rushed or overlooked. What really set them apart was how clean and respectful they were of our home throughout the process. Roofing is inherently messy, but this crew went above and beyond to keep everything as tidy as possible each day. It made a huge difference for our family. If you're looking for a team that is professional, reliable, and truly takes pride in their work, Clean Roofing is the one. We couldn’t recommend them more highly.

Review from Yelp
Clean roofing did an amazing job on our roof, and I cannot recommend them highly enough! They were quick to come out and give an estimate, available to answer questions regarding the scope of work, timelines, and negotiating price, and just as quick to start work once we were ready to go.

Jorge was our foreman, and he was great. He checked in with us in the morning, professional, and super hardworking, as was the rest of his crew, including Pablo, Jorge Jr, and Jesus. They worked hard, stayed busy, Jorge kept us updated. The whole crew was very nice (with 3 young daughters, that was an awesome little bonus). They kept the workspace contained, were mindful of our safety, and worked around our young family clutter and bustle.

Laura was our operations manager, and she kept us updated and up to speed! Rodrigo was our superintendent, and he was very easy to communicate with. He was responsive, timely, and made sure we understood the scope of the work.

That was important because our roof needed more work than the initial work order we laid out. There was a lot of rot in the wood beneath the roof. The original estimate was very reasonable, but the scope of work great 2-3x fold. With that increase in work that had to be done, the price still felt very fair. We were in good hands!

The whole experience was very relieving. We've had rain since they finished, no leaks at all! And they've checked in us to make sure everything was all good regarding no leaks. I'm so glad I found Clean Roofing and worked with them!
Review from Yelp
Clean Roofing did a great job helping with a leak on our flat membrane roof. I called them about the issue, and they responded quickly, found the leak, and repaired it efficiently. While they were there, they also recommended some preventive cleaning and minor repairs to help avoid future problems, which I really appreciated. Their pricing felt reasonable, and the quality of their work was excellent. Great company overall -- I would happily recommend Clean Roofing and use them again.
Review from Yelp
I cannot recommend Clean Roofing enough! Dealing with a roof leak is incredibly stressful, but this team made the entire process so much easier.

Desiree was absolutely amazing--she was always quick to respond and kept communication seamless. Micah was also a huge help, patiently answering all of our questions with a friendly and professional attitude.

When it came to the actual work, Daniel and Eduardo were fantastic. They were professional, punctual, and their quality of work was excellent. It is rare to find a team that combines such great customer service with high-quality craftsmanship. If you're looking for a reliable roofing company that truly cares about their customers, look no further
Review from Yelp
We had a good experience with the roofers who did the work on our house - Rodrigo (project manager), Jorge, Jr, Pablo, and Jesus. They were timely and polite. They worked very hard, cleaned up, and kept me in the loop.
Review from Yelp
Clean Roofing came out and fixed some out of warranty holes in my roof caused by some squirrels or crows. There was some initial miscommunication but it was resolved entirely satisfactorily. Even though it was out of warranty. Thank you !!
Review from Yelp
Miguel, Jose and team took the time and care with our roof to make sure it was the best looking one on the block! We're so happy with their hard work, and really appreciate the way all parts of the process were handled professionally.
Review from Yelp
Everything went very smoothly! All communication was great! The guys worked hard and the roof was done quickly. They cleaned up as if they were never there. The price was competitive, and they finished on time as promised. The roof looks great and we have already been receiving compliments. We also added insulation and they did a fabuous job- very thorough and complete.
Review from Yelp
We had these guys install a Tesla solar roof for us. Very responsive, professional and helpful. I'd definitely recommend.

Shingle roof repair FAQ

The questions Sunnyvale homeowners ask us most, answered straight.

Most single-area repairs cost between $375 and $1,800, depending on the extent of the damage, roof accessibility, and how much decking needs to be replaced. A free inspection gives you an exact number before work starts.
If the damage is isolated to one area and the roof is under about 20 years old, a repair is usually enough. If granule loss or curling shows up across most of the roof, or the roof has passed 25–30 years, replacement is the more cost-effective long-term choice.

Most leaks trace back to failed flashing at chimneys, valleys, and wall intersections not the shingles themselves. Cracked vent boots, wind-lifted shingles, and skylight flashing are the next most common causes we find.

Most single-area repairs are done in a few hours to one day. Larger repairs involving multiple leak points or deck replacement may take longer we’ll give you a time estimate with your quote.

Yes, in most cases. We replace missing or broken shingles and reseal lifted ones to match your existing roof. If storm damage is widespread across multiple slopes, we’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense than a patchwork repair.
Yes. We bring samples to the estimate and match color, style, and profile as closely as possible. On older or discontinued shingle lines, we’ll tell you upfront if an exact match isn’t available.

Sometimes, wind and storm damage is often covered, while normal wear from age or UV typically isn’t. We provide photo documentation and a written estimate you can submit with a claim.

Yes, if the roof has significant life left. Panels are expensive to remove and reinstall, so it’s almost always cheaper to repair or replace an aging roof before a solar install than after. As a certified Tesla Solar Roof installer, we can advise on timing either way.

Yes. Active leaks get priority scheduling. Call 888-336-2115 and we’ll get someone out to stop the water intrusion and assess the damage.

Standard architectural shingles typically last 25–30 years in the Bay Area climate, and premium lines can last longer. Actual lifespan depends heavily on installation quality and whether the attic is properly ventilated.
