SINGLE-PLY MEMBRANE ROOFING (LOW SLOPE)

There are different types of membrane materials available, depending on the function of the building.

Thermoset Roofs TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin) , PVC (Polyvinyl chloride) and KEE (Ketone Ethylene Ester) membranes provide excellent UV reflectivity and qualify for title 24. This is a durable single layer system installed using heat to make strong bonds at the seams. The installation of this product has grown rapidly due to its durability and reduced impact during installation.

These type of roofs are exceptionally popular in California. Depending on the roof, single ply may be required because of their excellent durability and environmental benefits.

Thermoset membranes provide excellent UV protection.

Thermoplastic membranes, such as TPO, are plastic-based materials. These membranes include a reinforcement layer that provides additional strength.

Besides excellent UV protection, Single-Ply membrane roofing has far less odor than the traditional BUR system.

In recent years Single Ply systems have surpassed the BUR system in squares applied. Single Ply membranes have made tremendous strides in quality in the past few years as well.
